The Research Behind Leadership & Management

June 1 – August 31, 2018

Over three months, through a combination of readings, videos and conversations, we’ll explore the research on:

  • What people need from work in order to be healthy
  • How to more effectively lead so people can make their best contributions

Some of our topics

  • Autonomy
  • Trust & psychological safety
  • Motivation & engagement
  • Reward structures

Five Live Calls (which will be recorded)

be aware online resources

This program can transform your view of work if you:

  • believe research can inform practice
  • are open to having conventional thinking challenged
  • are ready to invest time & energy in reading & discussion
  • want insight into your own working life
  • share responsibility for the health of your group (e.g., leadership, HR, OD, climate committee, wellness program, quality)
  • are seeking ideas for an organization change initiative

This program will feel frustrating if you:

  • are seeking a checklist of ‘best practices’ that you can implement quickly
  • dislike reading articles & books written by researchers (I get it – they can be dense!)
  • are focused on fighting fires and don’t currently have the time or energy to think about fire prevention
  • believe it’s someone else’s job to learn this material and put it to use

The fee is $550 per person.

If you choose to buy your own books, the fee is $500.  (Buying your own books also allows you to choose the format you prefer!)

Interested in signing up a group of folks from your organization? Read more about how this course can be a powerful learning experience for groups.

Contact Katherine directly so she can help streamline the registration process and apply group discounts (for groups 5 or larger).

The program materials are available until August 31.  Registration stays open until August 1.  Even if you join on August 1, you still have access to the entire program for a month, and will have the opportunity to participate in Be Aware at a discounted alumni rate in the future (for the cost of copyright permissions and any new books).

Alumni are welcome and encouraged to engage each time the program is offered.  These are ideas worth revisiting often, and the longer they stay alive in your mind and organization, the more likely change will take root!  If you’re an alumnus of Be Aware online, send me a note and I’ll send you a link to sign up at the alumni rate.

Registration is now open.  Join us and discover new possibilities for your working life in the new year!
